i just casted my vote for the special baranggay election. i was surprised when i saw that soldiers were there to conduct the election. normally, it should have been conducted by the election officers but perhaps to avoid violence the commission on election decided that it would be better if the soldiers were there. i had nothing against that if it would serve its purpose but i just find it irritating when those soldiers go overboard in performing their duties. as i was about to exercise my right of suffrage a soldier doubted if i was the one on the picture and if my identity was real!!! duh! the picture and i looked the same! he must be having poor eyesight! fortunately, i have with me my voter’s ID and that saved us from doing from having arguments! i would have insisted that it was me knowing that i was on the right track. grr, it really pisses me off when public officials overdo their duties.
